Security Root Keylogger - The Keylogger doesn't work properly on Vista. What can i do?
I have Windows Vista. Even though I have an Admin account I can not change a few of the Keylogger settings due to lack of permissions. What can I do?
Even though you have an Admin account, Vista, while the UAC (User Account Control) is on,
runs most of the programs including the Keylogger with limited rights.
Not like other Keyloggers, ours does not need more than these limited rights to work, but there are some settings that the Keylogger can not change without running with Admin rights.
In these cases, you have 3 ways to signal Vista to run the Keylogger with Admin rights:
Option 1) Close the Keylogger, then go to the folder you installed it, right click on the Keylogger file and choose the "Run As Administrator" option.
Option 2) Close the Keylogger and reinstall. The installer will run the Keylogger with Admin rights.
There is also a third option which is to completely disable the Vista UAC.
Option 3) Disable Vista UAC(Recommend):
a) Open Control Panel.
b) Under User Account and Family settings click on the "Add or remove user account".
c) Click on one of the user accounts.
d) Under the user account click on the "Go to the main User Account page" link.
e) Under "Make changes to your user account" click on the "Change security settings" link.
f) In the "Turn on User Account Control (UAC) to make your computer more secure" click to unselect the "Use User Account Control (UAC) to help protect your computer". Then click on the Ok button.
g) You will be prompted to reboot your computer.
(To later re enable the UAC option , just select the checkbox in step "g" and reboot).
